Want quick and easy ways money to save for a rainy day, or pay off a debt, maybe have some spare money for those little luxuries you want. In the old days you’d have to get a second job, these days there are a host of options to make money.
In today’s gig economy,you can use your assets to make money. Your assets may include skills, knowledge, unused stuff you have lying around. Many options you don’t have to leave home to do now we have the internet.
Here are some quick and easy ways to make money.
Sell unused items
Everyone has stuff around their home that they never use, why not turn this into cash. A good general rule is if you haven’t used it in 12 months, do you really need it. If not sell it and reap the rewards.
You can sell your unwanted items many ways, garage sale, eBay, Craigslist and other online marketplaces.
A garage sale is quick and easy to organise and can be advertised on social media to attract buyers. The most time will taken up with organising the items you want to sell. Once you have setup your stuff,take a few photos and advertise on social media with a description of items on offer. You can price your items and bargain with your customers or you can ask your buyers what they will offer to buy an item.
I have found that letting the buyer name their price can get you a better price than what you may have expected.
Online marketplaces like eBay and Craigslist are another option for selling items for extra cash. eBay does charge a fee, but many others don’t. Gumtree is one example of online markets that are free to use.
Get a couple of great photos and write a good and honest description of the item to post to an online marketplace. Checkout other items already on sites, like you will be using to get a market price for your item.
Depending on the size of the item will determine if you can ship it or have it as pickup only.
Drive for money
These days it’s easy to make money driving your car, with Uber or Uber eats or any of the other share riding/delivery services. There’s pizza delivery and other restaurants that deliver their menus now.
All you need is a vehicle and your time. Vehicles usually have to pass a minimum requirement and have insurance to cover any mishaps.
Surveys
Making money with surveys can be time consuming but is easy and cheap. Online surveys usually have a minimum payout figure around $20.00. There is also survey companies that just monitor your computer to follow your online searching and send you gift cards.
Offline surveys where you go to a meeting with others and discuss different subjects are another way to make money. Subjects vary greatly and market researchers require all sorts of people’s opinions. Market research surveys are usually 1 to 2 hours and provide light refreshments, you get paid at the end of the session.

Flip or sell
If you don’t have unwanted items around your home to sell, you can checkout other people’s garage sales or online for stuff you can resell.
Garage sales and op shops usually have lots of bargains that you can make money with.
Teach others a skill you have
Everyone has skills others would like to learn, maybe your a great cook, woodworking skills, photography know how or just about anything. There are people wanting to learn these skills.
You can teach people these skills in your home or theirs, online or wherever is convenient.
Cooking classes in your home enables you to make and use the things you are comfortable with to show people how to make great food. Class size, time and subjects are your choice.
The same goes for any skill you want to teach, woodworking in your shed or teaching photography in the great outdoors.
If you want to teach online there are many platforms available such as Udemy and Teachable, these do cost money, which you take into account when pricing your course. Free online platform for teaching is Youtube, it costs nothing to setup.
