Making a Favicon for your website is every easy.

I will show you how to make a favicon for your website using Canva. A Favicon is the small icon you see on your web browser tabs for different web sites.

Canva is a design tool that allows you to design just about anything and publish anywhere. It is a free application that has premium options available.

Designing your Favicon

Log into your Canva account and select create a design.

Then click on the custom design button. Size should be 100 x 100 pixels.

This screen will come up, showing you the options available on the left hand sidebar.

Choose an element from the sidebar, I chose a circle and changed the colour to green below.

Then you can insert text or a symbol for you Favicon, I have chosen a pen below.

You can change the colour of your text or symbol as I have below.

When your happy with your design, give it a name for example SAMPLE FAVICON as below.

Once you have finished your design and named it, you can hit the download button.

You will have several options to choose from. Choose the PNG file to download.

Upload your Favicon to your WordPress website

Now you have your Favicon downloaded it is ready to upload onto your website.

Go into your dashboard then choose the appearance button to get to your customize theme button and you’ll end up with a screen like this below.

Uploading your Favicon into your website

Select the Site identity button and then paste your Favicon into the box below where it says Select site icon. Then hit the publish button to save your changes.
